Frequently asked questions

How do i order a custom stencil?

1. Choose the size of stencil you want.  Remember the design needs to have a border of 1"-2" all around so that you have room to spread the paint around.
2. Click on the "REQUEST A CUSTOM STENCIL" button below to send me your request.  I will need a design (SVG file is the best option), or a full description of the design you are looking for. 
3. I will reply to your email within 24 hours with any questions or suggestions.  After I understand what you are looking for, I will send you some drafts of what I create within 3 days.  I only allow 2 free edits of the drafts, after that I charge an extra $5 for each change. 
4. After everything is finished and approved, I will ship out the product(s) via USPS within 1-3 business days. 

How long does it take to get my stencil(s)?

Custom orders vary in time frames, but will be shipped within 1-3 business days after the final draft is chosen.  I ship USPS Ground Advantage, which generally takes 3-5 more business days. 

Do you accept refunds or exhanges?

Due to the nature of my products, I do not issue refunds or exchanges.


​I do stand by my work, though, and will fix anything that has mistakes or damage on arrival.  Please notify me with in 5 days of delivery.


​I can not guarantee how many uses you will get on our silkscreen stencils.  There are too many variables, like the care of the stencils or how they are used.

How do i use the stencil(s)?

Using Chalk & Mesh Silkscreen stencils is as easy as 1, 2, 3. 

​

  1. Write "Back" on the clear backing, then pull it off and apply the stencil (sticky side down) to your surface.  Be sure to smooth out any air bubbles.

  2. Apply your choice of paint, ink, etching creme, or torch paste with a smooth squeegee.  Make sure to spread it in all of the mesh.  Scrape off any excess and replace it back into its container.

  3. Lift off the stencil slowly checking for any missed areas.  Reapply the stencil and medium, if necessary.  Remove the stencil and clean it immediately or place in a pan of water until you can.

How do I care for the stencil(s)?

  1. Using Cool water, clean your stencil by placing it in one of your hands or a bucket of water and gently wipe the front of the stencil with your other hand or a stencil sponge. DO NOT clean the back. You can rinse it, but do not rub it. Some staining or discoloration can occur. This does not affect the performance of the stencil, as long as the screen area is clear of all paint particles, it will be fine.

  2. Place the wet stencil onto your table face down, and place the clear backing onto it with the word "back" showing and move it around until it is centered. Then squeegee the water out of it, and place it on a flat, dry towel or hang it up to dry.

  3. Store the stencil(s) flat, in a cool, dry setting, away from any strong humidity. Your stencil(s) can be reused many times if they are cared for properly.

Ordering the Stencil

Whether you send me an SVG file, or ask me to create a custom design, there is a process that the design goes through to make it ready for the "stencil film".  Once I'm done, I will send you a few drafts to look over.  If you need any changes, I will work on that, then send a new draft.  Once the final design is chosen, I move on to the fun part, creating the stencil.

Hand-Crafting  The Stencil

Each stencil design is exposed onto the "stencil film" for the appropriate time, then carefully rinsed out to reveal the finished design.  It is then thoroughly inspected for flaws.  Once the stencil is completly dried, it is post exposed for durability.  It is then trimmed and packaged safely for shipping.  I take pride in creating quality silkscreen stencils.

Delivered In 3-5 Business Days

Our stencils are always shipped in a sturdy box or in between strong cardboard in a poly or bubble mailer.  They are shipped USPS Ground Advantage which generally takes 3-5 business days.  I add insurance in case of loss or damage.  If you have any problems, make sure to contact me as soon as possible for assistance.
